Jeff Rum

An award-winning creative director, author and public speaker, Jeff has 20+ years of experience in strategic marketing and communications, brand strategy and entrepreneurship. Jeff has led campaigns for major brands such as Bose, Fossil, PepsiCo, and Marriott. In addition, he has consulted on projects with nonprofits including Human Rights Campaign, UN Foundation, and Hillel International.

Jeff currently works as an independent consultant with nonprofit organizations in the areas of brand and messaging, campaign development, and digital fundraising. Jeff founded and served as CEO of Ignite Digital Strategy Group (ignite), a full-service marketing firm which was acquired by Creative Marketing Resources (CMR) in December 2021, forming CMRignite. Jeff is currently a strategic advisor to the agency and its board of directors.

In 2014, Jeff served as a brand and marketing consultant with the Obama administration to launch My Brother’s Keeper, a public-private partnership to promote intervention by civic leaders in the lives of young men of color to address their unique challenges and to promote racial justice.

As a volunteer, Jeff served as co-chair of National Young Leadership Cabinet of Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA) in 2017-18. While serving on Cabinet, Jeff traveled the world speaking on behalf of Young Leadership, including in cities across North America, Spain, Mexico, India, Morocco, Germany, Ukraine, Ethiopia, and Israel.  In 2016, Jeff completed the Zin Fellowship, a two-year leadership development program with Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. 

Jeff received a B.A. from American University in Communication: Visual Media and Jewish Studies. He received his M.A. in International Affairs from Georgetown University. He resides in Bethesda, Maryland with his three children, Eva, Max, and Ori.
